Limekiln Lane Memorial gets a memorial bench
Limekiln Lane memorial to the men who lost their lives in the disaster on 28th July 1923 has now got a very fitting memorial bench.
The hard work and dedication of Godfrey Allen and his grandson Brock Bowers has not only produced a very beautiful garden area at the memorial it has now produced a very fitting bench, the bench has been lovingly hand made by Godfrey at his home in Maltby in secret.
Yesterday (29th March 2017) after Godfrey asked for assistance in lifting the bench from Bill Spilsbury and Andrew Fletcher as his wife and grandson weren't quite strong enough, Andrew took the opportunity to take some snaps and post them on Facebook to unveil this beautiful piece of art.
Godfrey has said the seating area isn't quite complete yet so if you visit keep watching for the changes he has yet to create.
